AUSTRIAN WOMEN NOT SINGING?
The Austrian Women's ski team has been accomplishing a lot in the Vail ski
championships winning the downhill and super-giant slalom and more medals
than their male counterparts. So what's the problem? Some women are upset
with the Austrian National Anthem being played with the line "Land of Great
Sons", some feeling slighted that women aren't getting their just due.
Especially since the women are being watched by more of their countrymen
than the men.
OOPS !
Jennifer Sutton was fired by Dallas company ACS, because she said she was
going to honor the summons and report for jury duty despite a Texas law
that prohibits such actions by employers. So what did the judge do? Had the
manager who did the firing hauled in by armed guards. The judge was ready
to charge the man with contempt of court until told by ACS attornies that
the firing was a mistake. Ms. Sutton hasn't returned to work though saying
the position offered is not her old job. She's filed suit for wrongful
termination.

The Golden Raspbery Awards, The Razzie nominations are in for the worst of
'98. (The Oscar nominations are today)And the nominees are....
Worst Films: Spice World, Armageddon, The Avengers, Godzilla and An Alan
Smithee Film: Burn Hollywood Burn
Spice World was especially honored with 6 nominations. worst actress and
worst new star for the entire group, worst screenplay, worst original song
and worst screen couple, defined as ``any combination of two characters,
body parts or fashion accessories.''
Razzies founder John Wilson called '98,``worst movie-going year ever.''

WHEW THANK GOODNESS
China has decided to allow "Mulan" to show in the country afterall. The
obviously subversive piece of imperialist celluloid WILL now be allowed
after Chinese authorities decided the film based on an old Chinese folk
tale or it's Disney creators weren't so bad afterall.....Then again they
were upset about Disney' "Kundun" about the Dalai Lama, but Michael
Eisner's hints about a large Disney investment in China may have also
caught their attention.
THE EAGLES: 15 Million twice !
The supergroup is now the only recording act to top 15 Million in sales on
TWO albums. EAGLES Greatest Hits 1971-1974 and Hotel California.
MIKE TYSON TO JAIL
The boxer was sentenced to 1 year in jail for an altercation in Maryland
last year. He now faces a revocation of his probation in Indiana for his
rape conviction.
